Job summary

Google seeks a Lead Technical Accountant - Revenue & Deal Advisory in the US with flexible location between Sunnyvale, CA and Chicago, IL. You will guide complex revenue arrangements under US GAAP (ASC 606), advising cross-functional teams across product, finance, and legal to optimize deal outcomes while ensuring compliance.

You will craft technical memos, communicate positions to executives and auditors, and shape commercial agreements before signature, aligning with policy and accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA or CA license.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in Big 4/public or 5+ with advanced degree.
• Experience with technical accounting memos and policy documents.
• Experience in US GAAP and revenue recognition (ASC 606).

Responsibilities

• Engage early with controllers and cross-functional stakeholders on commercial deals and new product offerings, delivering technical accounting analysis on key topics.
• Conduct in-depth US GAAP research and act as a key partner on complex accounting questions.
• Assess technical accounting implications for strategic initiatives across Google product lines.
• Train non-finance partners, leadership, and product teams on revenue accounting principles.
• Lead technical discussions with external auditors and product area controllers on contract evaluations and SEC disclosures.
