Job summary

Healthcare Alternative Systems (HAS) in Chicago is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist to manage the end-to-end billing, coding, collections and denial management processes. You will serve as the main contact for EDI vendors and payers, while updating reimbursement rates in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with 3–5 years in healthcare billing.
• Experience with DHS SUPR, Medicare, Medicaid, MCO and commercial payers.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word; strong analytics and detail orientation.
• Credentialing/rea-credentialing knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees revenue cycle including billing, coding, collections, and denial management for DHS SUPR, Medicaid, MCO and commercial insurance.
• Maintains relationships with external vendors for practice management software and clearinghouse vendors.
• Communicates with payers and provider representatives; manages and updates EHR and reimbursement rates.
• Develops, implements, and revises policies related to billing, coding, and reimbursement processes; reconciles receivables and revenue reports.
• Monitors accounts receivable and reimbursements from insurance and third-party payers; assists finance with monthly statements.
