Responsibilities

SaaS company approaching $1 billion in revenue is seeking a Senior ManagerRevenue Accounting to lead critical revenue accounting, revenue operations, and sales reporting functions. Reporting to the SVP Controller, this senior manager will oversee complex revenue recognition matters, revenue governance, operational revenue processes, and executive reporting across the revenue lifecycle.

This role is responsible for developing scalable processes, controls, and systems that support a diversified portfolio of subscription, software, services, and product offerings. The successful candidate will serve as the organization's primary authority on revenue recognition and technical accounting matters while partnering closely with Finance, Sales, Legal, Product, Operations, and Executive Leadership to support strategic growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish the long-term vision, structure, and operating model for revenue accounting, revenue operations, and commercial reporting functions.
• Drive organizational effectiveness through talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on revenue-related business initiatives, operational risks, and growth opportunities.

Technical Revenue Accounting

• Lead initiatives to streamline and enhance the Quote-to-Cash lifecycle through automation, process redesign, and system optimization.
• Collaborate with Finance Systems, IT, and business teams to define and execute revenue systems enhancements and integration strategies.
• Ensure strong internal controls, process governance, and operational discipline across revenue-related activities.
• Lead revenue close activities and ensure accurate, timely, and reliable financial reporting.
• Oversee preparation and review of revenue-related disclosures and supporting documentation for external reporting requirements.
• Serve as a primary liaison for external auditors regarding complex revenue accounting matters.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation supporting accounting conclusions, controls, and audit requirements.

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner with Sales, Legal, Product, Customer Success, Operations, and Finance teams to support commercial initiatives and strategic transactions.
• Deliver training and education programs to improve organizational understanding of revenue policies, commercial processes, and compliance requirements.
• Lead strategic transformation efforts that improve scalability, reporting quality, operational efficiency, and business visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting.
• Deep expertise in revenue recognition standards and technical accounting guidance applicable to subscription, software, technology, services, and product-based business models.
• Significant experience evaluating complex commercial agreements and advising stakeholders on accounting and operational implications.

• Experience improving financial processes, controls, systems, and reporting capabilities within complex business environments.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise business systems and Quote-to-Cash processes; experience with ERP, CRM, and revenue management platforms preferred.
• Experience supporting external reporting requirements and audit processes within a public-company or public-company-ready environment.
• CPA and public accounting experience preferred.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project leadership skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting and operational concepts into actionable business recommendations.
• Proven track record of driving process improvement, operational rigor, data-driven decision making, and scalable growth.
