Job summary

Q2 is seeking a sharp Revenue Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting team in Austin. You will own contract revenue recognition under ASC 606, set up billing and revenue schedules, and model complex terms in Excel while collaborating with Sales, Product, Legal, and Finance.

You’ll help ensure accurate revenue reporting from day one, configure systems for revenue and billing in NetSuite, and provide insights to optimize financial processes in a fast-growing fintech. Fluency in English required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5+ years of related experience; CPA preferred.
• Solid understanding of ASC 606 and its application to contracts.
• Proficiency in Excel with large datasets and pivot tables.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate terms to accounting treatment.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
• Set up and maintain billing and revenue schedules in the accounting system.
• Perform advanced Excel analyses to model contract terms and validate billing.
• Record data in the accounting system with documented key decisions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Legal, and Finance on contract structures.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in revenue or billing data.
• Maintain documentation to support internal controls and SOX compliance.
• Provide accounting insights to support reporting and forecasting.
