Pete's Tire Barns Inc. is seeking an experienced equipment technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

You will respond quickly to breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and communicate actionable recommendations to improve reliability and reduce downtime. The role requires hands-on maintenance on Bandag retread machinery and shop equipment, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical/industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing or tire retreading equipment is a plus.

Jobbeschreibung

Equipment Repair & Troubleshooting• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and other equipment issues within thetechnician’s capabilities.• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and take appropriate action to minimize production downtime.• Complete in-house repairs safely and efficiently using available tools, parts, manuals, and technical resources.• Identify recurring equipment problems and communicate recommendations to the Plant Manager to improve reliabilityand reduce downtime.• Coordinate with Bandag service representatives and other qualified vendors when repairs or technical issues arebeyond the shop’s in-house capabilities.• Maintain accurate records of equipment repairs, service activity, parts used, and unresolved issues.Preventive Maintenance• Perform required preventive maintenance (PM) on Bandag retread machinery, curing equipment, and other shopequipment according to established schedules and requirements.• Complete PM inspections, lubrication, adjustments, cleaning, and component replacement as required.• Identify worn or deteriorating components before failure and communicate replacement needs to management.• Maintain PM documentation and ensure scheduled maintenance is completed on time.• Support compliance with Bandag maintenance requirements and equipment operating standards.Production Support & Floater Responsibilities• Serve as a production floater and work on the line when needed to support staffing levels, production goals, andworkflow.• Perform production tasks across multiple stations while maintaining required safety, quality, and productivity standards.• Provide coverage during employee absences, breaks, training, or periods of increased production demand.• Use hands-on production experience to help identify equipment or process issues that may affect quality or productivity.• Support the Plant Manager and shop leadership with other operational needs as assigned.Safety & Compliance• Follow and promote all company, Bandag, OSHA, and equipment-specific safety requirements.• Ensure equipment is properly shut down, locked out/tagged out, and made safe before performing maintenance orrepairs.• Promptly report unsafe equipment conditions, hazards, incidents, and near-misses to management.• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance and production work area.• Use required personal protective equipment and follow safe work practices at all times.Parts, Tools & Vendor Coordination• Monitor commonly used maintenance parts, supplies, and tools and communicate replenishment needs tomanagement.• Assist with obtaining parts, technical information, and service support needed to complete repairs.• Coordinate with Bandag and outside service providers to schedule repairs, service calls, and follow-up work whenneeded.• Help verify completed vendor repairs and communicate any remaining issues to the Plant Manager.Education & Experience• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.• Minimum of 2 years of mechanical, industrial maintenance, manufacturing, automotive, or related hands-on repairexperience preferred.• Experience working with manufacturing or tire retreading equipment preferred.• Bandag equipment or retread industry experience is a plus.• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.Skills & Competencies• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment.• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems preferred.• Ability to read and follow equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical instructions.• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize repairs based on safety and production impact.• Self-motivated, dependable, organized, and able to work independently with limited supervision.• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with shop leadership, employees, Bandag representatives, and outsidevendors.• Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as production demands require.
