Job summary

BPAS, a national retirement plan service provider, seeks a detail-oriented processing specialist in Utica, NY. You will create and review retirement transactions in the OMNI system, troubleshoot rejects, and rotate through contributions, enrollments, distributions, and nightly trading, ensuring timely processing and compliance with regulations.

Requires a 2-year Accounting or related degree and 1 year of office experience; strong organization, written and oral communication skills, and

  • Two year degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year Accounting, Payroll, or applicable office experience.
  • Ability to be highly organized and show an attention to detail.
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and multitask.

Responsibilities

  • Create and review various retirement plan transactions in the OMNI recordkeeping system.
  • Troubleshoot transaction rejects.
  • Review trial postings of transactions prepared by other OMNI processors.
  • Rotate through various responsibilities in the OMNI Processing Unit (contributions, enrollments, distributions/loans, dividend posting, trust accounting).
  • Nightly Trading.
  • Ensure timely processing of transactions.
  • Completion of ASPPA’s Retirement Plan Fundamentals courses (RPR).
  • Assist with various operational projects as deemed necessary by supervisor/manager.
  • Maintain proficient knowledge of, and demonstrate ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to this position, ensure ongoing adherence to policies, procedures, and internal controls, and meet all training requirements in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

This position is responsible for processing various transactions for retirement plans, including trading responsibilities.

Essential Duties
  • Create and review various retirement plan transactions in the OMNI recordkeeping system
  • Troubleshoot transaction rejects

Ancillary Duties
  • As an integral member of the organization, this position is also responsible to provide assistance wherever necessary to help the department and the Company in achieving their goals.
Qualifications

  • Display an intermediate level competency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as personal computer skills

Other Job Information

Hours: M-F 8:30-5:00

Compensation: Commensurate with experience plus potential for annual merit increase.
