Job summary

Empower Retirement is seeking a Counselor to deliver on-site and virtual education and enrollment presentations for 401(k), 403(b), and Government clients across the territory. You will leverage Empower's technology to drive enrollment, deferrals, and rollovers, while supporting the Relationship Management team in building strong stakeholder relationships.

This position is responsible for delivering on-site and virtual education and enrollment presentations to new and existing defined contribution 401(k), 403(b), and/or Government clients across all plan sizes. The Counselor will leverage Empower's industry leading technology and tools to drive results and help employees strive for a successful retirement. This position will also assist the Relationship Management team in effectively establishing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within the territory assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and facilitate communication and education strategies by conducting one-on-one virtual and on-site group meeting by using various technologies in a professional manner.
  • Drive participants to take measurable actions to improve their retirement outcomes including plan enrollment, deferral increases, and rollovers from previous plans
  • Achieve business results and facilitate impactful conversations while meeting service level agreements
  • Consistently complete reporting requirements within required timeframes including logging meetings, attendees and outcomes in appropriate systems
  • Build strong relationships with assigned key contacts, plan sponsor representatives and internal stakeholders to maximize successful participant outcomes
  • Manage meeting schedule, including travel booking
  • Provide feedback to local relationship managers about the effectiveness of communication materials/strategies and assist in identifying alternatives
  • Attend client meetings with other service team members
  • May be asked to participate in finals presentations for new prospects based on the demands of the territory
  • Ongoing training doesn't need to be called out explicitly.

OTHER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 registrations within corporate-established timelines required; current Series 6 and 63 preferred
  • FINRA fingerprinting required
  • Bachelor's degree and or equivalent experience considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2 - 4 years relevant financial services experience
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams required
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to calculate figures such as interest, proportions, percentages, and fractions required
  • Strategic thinker who can work independently
  • Strong relationship building and territory management skills
  • Practical experience providing high-level, consultative client interactions preferred
  • Basic knowledge of defined contribution plans preferred
  • Bilingual preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Normal office working conditions when located in field office. May be required to work from home, in an appropriate work environment including internet access, when not on site. On-site days vary, subject to the business needs of each plan. Travel may require use of a personal vehicle, taxis, ride sharing services and/or public transit to attend client meetings with participants but will sometimes include overnight travel based on plan/territory requirements. All travel, including mileage reimbursement for use of personal vehicle (other than commuting to and from Empower office) will be paid by Empower. Requires ability to move and set up portable computer equipment, forms and brochures, tables & booths, etc. at employer designated locations.

Base Salary Range

$59,700.00 - $84,300.00

the salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
