Job Title: Senior Retirement Benefits Analyst

Location: Deerfield, IL or Chicago, IL (Hybrid – Onsite in Deerfield Required on Tuesdays; Additional 2 Days Flexible Between Offices)

Duration & Type: Initial 3-month Contract with possible extension or conversion

Compensation: Competitive W2 Hourly Rate ($63 - $70), 401(k), Access to Healthcare and Dental Insurance Plan of Choice. (Benefit Plans can be requested at time of submission to client)

Chamberlain Advisors is seeking a Senior Retirement Benefits Analyst to support our client’s Total Rewards team through a transition period. This is a unique opportunity to work with top-tier vendors and gain wide-ranging experience across corporate retirement programs.

What You Will Be Accountable For

  • Provide advanced analytical support for 401(k), profit-sharing, and deferred compensation plans, including modeling costs and interpreting utilization data
  • Lead plan audits, vendor reconciliations, and regulatory compliance (e.g., 5500 filings, 409A rules, ERISA standards)
  • Review and maintain SPDs, plan documents, and open enrollment (OE) materials for accuracy and clarity
  • Conduct new hire benefits orientations with a focus on retirement programs
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding retirement benefit questions
  • Partner with external vendors (e.g., Fidelity) and internal teams (payroll, HRIS, finance) to resolve issues and improve service delivery
  • Monitor plan operations across U.S. and Puerto Rico plans to ensure alignment with plan documents and legal requirements
  • Support clearing account reconciliation, employer contribution allocation, and true-up processes
  • Evaluate vendor RFP responses to assess value, compliance, and alignment with organizational goals
  • Use SAP, SuccessFactors (Employee Central), and Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) for analysis and reporting
  • Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to junior benefits analysts

What Qualifications You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Business, or related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in corporate retirement benefits or total rewards
  • Strong working knowledge of 401(k), non-qualified deferred compensation plans, and applicable regulations (ERISA, 409A, etc.)
  • Ceridian Dayforce or similar HCM system experience for managing payroll, benefits and employee data.
  • Experience with SAP Employee Central (Success Factors) or similar HRIS/HCM
  • Experience with retirement vendors (Fidelity preferred) and systems like Fidelity NetBenefits or Vanguard for retirement plan compliance
  • Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros, Vlookups) and data interpretation skills
  • Experience with benefits communications and vendor plan documentation
  • Strong Open Enrollment communication, project management, and vendor engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coach junior staff and contribute to cross-functional projects
