Job summary

Aon Corporation is seeking a Retirement Advanced Associate Actuary in Burlington, MA, with 4+ years of actuarial work experience. You will engage directly with clients, manage projects, and be responsible for financial assessments related to pension plans.

Retirement Advanced Associate Actuary

Location: Burlington, MA

What the Day Will Look Like
  • Pass actuarial exams (minimal requirement of one course per year)
  • Maintain some, and developing other, relationships with higher-level client contacts
  • Manage various projects simultaneously, with some oversight
  • Complete significant amount of work through others (i.e. delegation)
  • Play active role in client meetings
  • Prepare contribution requirements and accounting costs, with little or no guidance
  • Interpret valuation results and provide initial recommendations to lead actuary
  • Review valuation results and explain outcomes to client
  • Review pension benefit calculations
  • Coach/train less experienced students
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours when client needs dictate or take responsibility for finding resources to complete the assignment
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
  • 4+ years of actuarial work experience
  • Completion of 5-6 actuarial exams
  • Advanced knowledge with funding and accounting calculations
Skills and Experience that will lead to Success
  • ASA or EA Designations (or close to).
  • Valuation programming on ProVal system
Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics
Pay Transparency Laws

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $110,000-$130,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus] in addition to base salary. The amount of any [bonus] varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
