Job summary

LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans seeks an established senior researcher in retinal disease, preferably focusing on retinitis pigmentosa. The candidate will be appointed at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor on the tenure track and join the Ophthalmology Department.

The position requires an MD (or equivalent), PhD or both, and includes an endowed chair to promote scholarly productivity. A demonstrated federal funding record and a strong publication and editorial service background

Qualifications

• Requires MD (or equivalent), PhD, or MD/PhD.
• Clinicians must be licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana before hire date.

Responsibilities

• Sustain an exceptional research program in retinal disease.
• Mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
• Participate in departmental, graduate, and undergraduate teaching programs.
• Contribute to patient care and clinical education for students, residents, and fellows.
