TheRetention & Sales Associate is responsible fornew salesandretentionfor commercial group business represented by ourCommunity and School Poolsin an assigned geographic territory.The roleisalsoresponsible for managing existing experience-rated and self-funded groups withfewerthan 100enrolled subscriberswithin the same territory.In addition, thispositionmaintainsstrongbrokerrelationships within this market segment,providing technicalexpertise,administrative support,educationand resources to helpbrokers effectivelypromotethe Company’s benefitplansand programs.
Essential Functions
- Respondtoand fulfillopportunities forCommunity & SchoolPoolnewsaleswithin an assignedgeographic territory.
- Responsible for retention of existing clients,effectivelypresenting and managingannualrenewalpresentations andoptions,working with underwriting asnecessaryand offering recommendations to clients based on analysis of clients’ insurance needs.
- Source,updateand educatebrokerssellingour products; provides resources and information to help brokers promote the Company’s differentiated value,network strengthandoral health and wellnessfocus.
- Actively promote theCompany’s dentaland oral wellness programs to groups offering our benefit plans on a voluntary basis, to increaseplan participationand revenue from existing clients.
- Provideteamsupport during peak periods ofseasonalworkload.
- Maintain knowledge of new and existing DDID and competitor products,industrytrends,newproduct information.Gather and report competitive informationto product management.
- Maintain and updateinformation in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and sales tracking system inProClaim2, includingall group andbroker interactions,and anyconsultationoreducationon products and related services.
- Ensures web-based quotes arebeing actively managed andcurrentnew prospects are addedto theCRM..
- Ensure credibility with clients byremaininginformedregardingindustry information, new product information, legislative changes,coverages, and technology.
- Act as liaison and sales team lead to other DDID departments as assigned by VP of Sales.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organization’s core values, code of ethics, and compliance/security standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.Somecollegepreferred.
- At least three (3)yearsexperienceinhealthor dentalinsurance industryrequired.
- Mustpossessor obtain an Idaho producer license in Health & Disabilityviathe state insurance exam within30 daysof employment.
- Strongproficiencywith Microsoft Word, Outlook,PowerPoint and Exceland ability to learnand become subject matter expert onadditionalproprietarysoftware systems.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license anda good drivingrecord.
- Abilityto travelasrequired.
- Strong skills related to motivation,initiativeand collaboration.
- Strong, professionalwritten and verbal communication skillsas well as the abilityexplaincomplicated technical issues.
- Stronginterpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build andmaintaineffective work relationships andwork with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Demonstrate excellent problem solving andorganizationskills.
- Able to work as a team member.
PHYSICALAND MENTALREQUIREMENTS
- Sitting/Standing (alternatively) continuously.
- Keyboard Use/Repetitive Hand motion continuously.
- Skill/ability related to comprehension, organization, reasoning/decision-makingand communicationappropriate toa sales position with customer facing duties.
