Job summary

Bear Creek Mountain Resort is seeking a guest-focused Retail Team Member to join the Slopeside Sports Shop. You will help guests with product information, process sales transactions, and maintain an inviting, organized retail space while supporting revenue goals.

You will collaborate with the team, learn Sirius Ware, and ensure accurate cash handling, contributing to a memorable guest experience at the resort.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guests with efficient, friendly, and thoughtful service.
  • Balance cash and credit card receipts at the end of your shift.
  • Maintain shelves and displays in the Slope Side Sports Shop to be neat and orderly.
  • Assist in restocking inventory and communicating items to be ordered in a timely fashion.
  • Answer inquiries about resort amenities, services, policies, area attractions, and dining.
  • Work with other departments as needed via phone or two-way radio.

Job description

The ideal Retail Team Member for Bear Creek is a guest service focused individual with the ability to help create a positive, memorable experience for our guests. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, have good communication skills, be detail oriented and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Retail team, creating the opportunity for guests to purchase items in a friendly, helpful and efficient environment providing product information while properly processing sales transactions.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Provide our guests with efficient, friendly and thoughtful service
  • Responsible for keeping track of inventory and re-stocking supplies as necessary
  • Ensure that the Slope Side Sports Shop shelves and displays have a neat and orderly appearance
  • Communicate items to be ordered in a timely fashion
  • Clean and maintain displays, shelves, windows and entrance door
  • Responsible for assisting in making sure the Slope Side Sports Shop hits its revenue goals by suggestive selling items to potential buyers
  • Handle dissatisfied guests efficiently and courteously to ensure their satisfaction
  • Answer inquiries pertaining to the resort's amenities, services, policies, area attractions, and dining
  • Communicate with other departments as needed via telephone and two-way radio
  • Balance all cash and credit card receipts at the end of your shift

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM ALL BCMR TEAM MEMBERS:

  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
  • Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
  • Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
  • Support Southern Management's Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Comply with Bear Creek and Southern Management's policies and procedures
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years or older to be in this position
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
  • Previous retail experience is a plus
  • Availability during peak operating times, i.e.: weekends, holidays and special events

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Ability to learn and become proficient understanding of the Sirius Ware software and scanner
  • Basic math and computer skills are a must
  • Strong attention to detail and follow through is essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with different types of personalities
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be well organized, detailed and able to make proper decisions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical Demands data elements provide a systematic way of describing the physical activities that an occupation requires of a worker.
