Job summary

Maverik is seeking a Retail Team Member in Iowa City, IA to help create an exceptional customer experience. You’ll greet, engage, and thank customers, stock shelves, and keep displays inviting while learning our food program and front-of-store operations.

Expect cross-training between Food Service and Front-of-Store, with opportunities for growth and advancement in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be hardworking and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler Permit, if required by store or jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional customer experience through Maverik’s GET (Greet, Engage, and Thank) behaviors.
• Multitask between roles: assisting customers, stocking supplies, and maintaining displays.
• Prepare Maverik’s recipes and ensure food displays are clean and inviting.
• Adapt quickly to changing circumstances and provide strong service even in busy times.

Retail Team Member

Starting pay: $13.58 - $15.58/hr. with both career and growth opportunities!

Shift: Full and Part-time opportunities available. This position will be cross-trained between Food Service and Front-of-Store.

Physical Requirements:

• This position involves frequent standing, walking, handling, and horizontal reaching. It also requires reaching above shoulder level and below the waist, as well as activities such as bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and pushing. The role may involve lifting, carrying, or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work safely with equipment that generates and maintains high temperatures, while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
