Job summary

Tailored Brands is seeking a Retail Store Tailor—Alterations to join our team. You will assist customers during the shopping experience, take measurements, and expertly mark, alter, and press garments to ensure a perfect fit and an attractive finish.

Using your tailoring expertise and strong communication skills, you will help customers with size questions, outfit suggestions, and maintain a clean, organized tailor shop. Growth and teamwork are valued in this role across our brand family.

Qualifications

• Formal training for tailoring preferred
• Experience as a tailor for menswear highly preferred
• Good technical skill in sewing equipment
• Strong communication skills required
• Team attitude and enthusiasm
• Proficiency in alterations of men’s tailored clothing

Responsibilities

• Assist customers during the selling process and respond to special requests
• Mark, alter, and press garments to ensure a perfect fit
• Ensure proper garment fit and sizing for customers
• Answer customer questions and offer ensemble suggestions
• Maintain an open dialogue with management and help teammates
• Keep the tailor shop clean and organized
• Support across multiple store locations or brands as needed

RETAIL STORE TAILOR-ALTERATIONS

Provide positive input and valuable assistance throughout the entire customer experience to ensure that each guest is satisfied and receives a final product that is customized to look attractive, fit well, and feel just right.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

You'll have the opportunity to assist in the selling process by greeting, interacting with, and responding to customers regarding any special requests they may have.

In addition, you'll use your extensive knowledge of alterations and passion for providing excellent service to expertly mark, alter, and press the garments our customers select.

• Ensure the proper fit of garments
• Answer customer questions
• Mark garments for tailoring
• Press garments
• Maintain an open dialogue with management
• Help other team members
• Help to keep the tailor shop clean and organized
