Job summary

Family Dollar in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver friendly customer service, and develop the store team.

You will assist with merchandising, open/close procedures, loss prevention, training, and maintaining a clean, inviting sales floor. This role supports the Store Manager and requires strong communication, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Store management experience in retail preferred
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Provide friendly customer service and address questions or concerns
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom to floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process directives and store communications
• Maintain store displays and promotional fixtures
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged stock, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom
• Protect and secure store assets including cash
• Support Store Manager in training and development of associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff
• Maintain bathroom cleanliness and overall store presentation
• Other duties as assigned
