What You’ll Be Working On

Responsible for the overall management and direction of the store and team in accordance with all policies, procedures, regulations, and laws. Ensures financial results of the store, including sales, on-site donations (OSDs), expenses and profits, meet or exceed target. Have a constant focus on growing the business through full utilization of every OK, followed by increasing OK volume as appropriate. Achieves results through management team, as well as by working side-by-side, hands-on, with the broader store team. The SM role-models expected behavior and continually observes, assesses, trains,coaches,andcounsels’performance. The StoreManageris guided by the Savers Vision and Core Values.

StorePerformance
  • Ensure store performance meets targets in sales, profit, OSDs, production, and productivity based on annual performanceexpectationsforthestore.
  • Continuallymonitorandsetthepaceofwork.
  • Haveawarenessofcorporate objectives andan understanding of localmarket potential.
  • Has the ability toanalyzekeymetrics andinformation, tiefindings to observations and take appropriate action.
  • Inspect sales floor for shop-ability and ensure productivity of merchandise.
Leadership and Development
  • Lead, direct,and supervise the work of the management team and through them to entire team.
  • Oversee Production Manager and Retail Sales Manager in proactively planningstaffingneeds, recruiting, selecting and training team members at alllevels.
  • Regularlyobserve, assess, interact, coach and counsel theteam.
  • Regularinteraction, training,coaching,andcounseling ofmanagementteam.

Merchandise Productivity
  • Manage full utilization of the OK to maximize sales and profit potential.
  • Inspect execution of the Morning Maintenance program to ensure sales floor is ready for business each morning, search for and leverage key lessons from unsold merchandise.
  • Auditmerchandiseandpricesrolledtoandoffthefloor.
  • Provideoversightfortheworkschedulestomeet and exceed both customer and donor expectations.
  • Ensure the execution of merchandise standards and initiatives, as well as sales & marketing promotions.
  • Ensure thatthe sales floor/donor areas are continuously monitored, and team memberactivityisdirected,toensurethatstandardsaremet.
  • Planandimplementseasonalbackstock, merchandisingand other strategicprograms.
  • EnsuretheSavers’recycling program is fully leveraged to reduce landfill and allow for further reuse of unsold/un-saleable items.
DonationManagement
  • Executeallcompanystandardsin theCommunityDonationCenter(CDC),DonationDriveFundraiser(DDF),andGetto Give programs.
  • Oversee efforts inside andoutside thestore to create community awareness of the CDC, the companybrandand the benefits of donating to Savers.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations that are seeking cash fundraising opportunities and partner with them on DDF events.
  • Develop partnerships and community awarenesswith local non-profit organizations (e.schools, shelters)thatmaybenefitfromfreereceiptofmerchandisethatthestore would otherwise recycle.
Customer/DonorService
  • Deliver a positive and unforgettable customer/donor experience by setting the example for, as well as training and coaching,customerand donor service expectations, working with all members of management to ensure execution.
  • Receiveandrespondtocustomer/donorquestions,requests,andcomplaints.
  • Ensureaquick,accurate and positive cashregister experience forcustomers.
  • Ensurea quick and informative experience for donors.
  • Actively engage with the customer/donor by seekingfirsthandfeedback to make improvements to all aspects of the shopping and donor experience.
  • Guide the RSM in implementing the set-up of sales and marketing promotions &programs.
  • Assistdonors per Companystandards.
Loss Prevention and Safety
  • Protectcompanyassetsandinformationbyensuring theirsafe handling,securityandintegrity.
  • Proactivelypromoteloss prevention awareness by upholding procedures and ensuring policies are inplace.
  • Maintaina safe work environment through education, consistent follow up, ensuring policies and procedures are in place, and supporting the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).

Responsible for the overall management and direction of all supervisors and team members in accordance with Savers’ policies and applicablelaws.This includes implementing and administering company programs, policies, and procedures. Able to makedecisions and take reasonable action in the absence of the District Manager and/or corporate support to ensure successful storeoperation. Leverages regionalresources as appropriate.Perform any other task, function or responsibility as instructed bytheir immediate supervisor and/or superior manager of the Company.

Minimum Required Education, Training And Experience
  • High School diploma: post-Secondary degree/diploma preferred.
  • 3+ years results-driven retail store management, or industrial management experience.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry products weighing less than 5 lbs. Will occasionally need to lift and carry products weighing up to 50 lbs. Occasional pushing and pulling of racks/carts weighing 50 to 250 pounds using 4 – 10 lbs. of force.
  • Frequent reaching out in various levels/directions to inspect/handle merchandise, validate work processes, train/coach/counsel the team.
  • Possess dexterity for complex hand-eye tasks, including keyboarding, writing on documents/forms, merchandise & pricing inspection.
  • Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping, bending, and twisting and occasional kneeling needed to handle &/or inspect merchandise, validate work processes, train/coach/counsel the team.
  • Frequently required to read written & electronic documents and product labels.
  • Continuous need to hear and verbally communicatein order tointeract with and respond to management, team members and customers. Will need to hear requests in person and via intercom and telephone.
  • Will occasionally be exposed to hazardous machinery (compactor, baler, Big Joe), solvents (cleaners, detergents), radiation (Microwave in break room), continuously exposed to dust and frequently exposed to temperature fluctuations.
  • Will need to adjust work schedule to the needs of the business, including working some nights, weekends, holidays.
  • Able and willing to safely, cautiously, and efficiently navigate work environment that may include large industrial machinery, heavy equipment and product, elevated and uneven surfaces, and heights, and moving forklifts.
  • Frequent reaching to various levels and directions to move/stack boxes of product, move product on and off hangers, rails and carts and stock product on display racks/shelves.
  • Possess dexterity for complex hand-eye tasks, including keyboarding and merchandise ticketing/movement activities.
  • Continuous standing, frequent walking, stooping,bendingand twisting and occasional kneeling needed to stack and/or stock product(s) on display racks.
