ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Accurately process customer transactions using the point-of-sale system.
• Count and return change correctly according to company standards.
• Bag items carefully and efficiently, ensuring customers leave with all purchased merchandise.
• Follow company standards for returns and exchanges by directing customers to the appropriate team member and notifying management when needed.
• Maintain adequate change in the cash drawer and notify management when additional change is needed.
• Keep the checkout area clean, organized, and stocked throughout the shift.
• Stay informed on current promotions, advertisements, and product information to assist customers.
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and merchandising products in the Front End Department and other assigned departments as needed.
• Remain attentive, professional, and positive while standing for extended periods and serving customers.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

During the workday, the Cashier will stand and walk for their full shift, with the exception of scheduled breaks. The employee will need to regularly push, pull, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, assistance and reasonable accommodations may be available when appropriate. The employee will need to reach above their head, and sometimes crouch to pick up items from the floor or a low location. The employee will also need to consistently use a computer with a screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May be required to work in cold or hot environments including refrigerated coolers, freezers, and warm loading docks.
