Job summary

Burlington Stores, Inc. in Newport News, VA is seeking a Full-Time Retail Stocking Team Supervisor to lead the back-of-house operations, receive deliveries, unload and sort cartons, and ensure merchandise flows smoothly to the sales floor.

You will coach associates, manage workload, uphold asset protection and safety guidelines, and help recruit and onboard new team members. The role combines leadership with hands-on supervision in a fast-paced, inclusive retail environment.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in off-price, big box, or specialty retail environments
• Strong interpersonal skills with a positive, engaging attitude
• Full-time availability including nights, weekends and holidays
• Able to move, lift, or carry 40 lbs. or more and stand/walk for extended periods

Responsibilities

• Lead merchandise progression: receiving deliveries, unloading and sorting cartons, processing merchandise, and moving goods to the sales floor
• Ensure back of house cleanliness, setup and organization meet standards
• Reinforce Asset Protection strategies to prevent shortages
• Promote safety for customers and associates by following guidelines
• Foster a diverse culture based on teamwork and collaboration
• Drive associate compliance with company policies and standards
• Direct associates and manage workload
• Be accountable for team productivity and merchandise protection
• Coach associates in the moment and recognize performance; assist in recruiting and onboarding new staff
• Participate in weekly workload planning meetings
• Support Community Relations through company programs and partnerships
• Coordinate meal and break periods and monitor schedule adherence

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to move/handle/lift store merchandise weighing 40 lbs. or more, as well as the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
