Job summary

Empire Distributors Inc., a leading beverage distributor in Georgia, is hiring a Retail Spirits Sales Rep in Training to grow our footprint with package stores. You will learn to sell spirits, beer, fine wine and non-alcoholic products to our wholesale customers and support growth initiatives.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a related experience window, and a current Georgia Alcohol Sales Permit with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
• Must have current Alcohol Sales Permit from the Georgia Department of Revenue. Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Order Processing Systems.

Responsibilities

• Learns and executes the seven Standards of Performance: Distributions, Position, Display, Pricing, Point-of-sale, Cold box, and Rotation in each account.
• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads.
• Travels through assigned territory daily to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, present items for distribution, and handle damages and off-condition product.
• Quotes prices and credit terms for orders obtained.
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
• Confers with District Manager to resolve customer problems.
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
• Identifies and respond to customers' needs.
• Maintains frequent and open communication with drivers, driver supervisors, district managers, sales managers and the general manager.
• Prepares and/or maintains distribution tracking reports, planning and goals, case quotas and dollar objectives and other administrative tasks as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Participates in supplier work-withs.
• Continually maintains training and product knowledge.
• Delivers emergency orders when needed.
• Conducts business according to local and state laws.
• Other duties as assigned by District Manager.
• Performs merchandising duties as needed or upon request.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have the ability to sustain a current and valid Alcohol Sales Permit from the Georgia Department of Revenue. Must maintain valid driver’s license.
