Job summary

Riverside is seeking a Retail & Specialty Pharmacy Director in Newport News, VA to lead strategic initiatives, operations, and financial performance across multiple locations. You will drive growth, strengthen payer relationships, and ensure compliant, patient-centered service delivery.

This leadership role requires a pharmacy degree, Virginia licensure, and a track record of high-reliability operations, technology modernization, and talent development within a health-system context.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy and licensed to practice.
Minimum 3 years of progressive pharmacy leadership within a health system.
At least 2 years of retail and specialty experience in a health-system setting.
Strong knowledge of URAC/ACHC accreditation standards and payer requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute strategic plans for retail and specialty pharmacy growth.
Provide operational leadership across multiple sites with high reliability.
Drive financial performance through budgets, procurement, and reimbursement optimization.
Lead talent management, staffing, coaching, and succession planning.
Identify and implement technology, automation, and digital engagement initiatives.
Collaborate with physicians, payers, and partners to align services and care transitions.
Ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across the enterprise.
