Job summary

Dufry AG in Dallas, TX seeks a Retail Shift Manager I to oversee daily operations, supervise associates, and ensure exceptional customer experiences during assigned shifts.

You'll execute opening, closing, and inventory tasks, manage cash handling, and uphold brand standards, safety protocols, and labor rules while driving store performance and team engagement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in retail or customer service.
• At least 6 months of supervisory experience in retail, specialty retail, or customer service environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Execute opening, daily, and closing procedures in compliance with company policies and operational checklists.
• Supervise retail associates during assigned shifts, ensuring proper task execution and adherence to operational standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness, merchandise presentation, and visual appeal throughout the shift.
• Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Assign daily tasks to team members and ensure adequate coverage during shifts.
• Ensure compliance with labor regulations, including mandated breaks and meal periods.
• Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts, addressing escalated issues and ensuring operational readiness.
• Operate POS systems, process transactions, and maintain cash handling compliance and security protocols.
• Monitor inventory levels, assist with receiving merchandise, and report discrepancies or stock shortages to management.
• Ensure compliance with visual merchandising standards, planogram execution, seasonal resets, and promotional displays.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, resolve customer concerns using sound judgment, and motivate team members to meet service standards.
• Train associates on brand standards, operational procedures, and customer engagement techniques.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety and health standards; train staff on safety protocols.

Schedule & Reporting

Reports to the Store Manager or Retail Multi-Unit Manager.

Requires flexibility to work varied shifts, including opening, peak periods, and closing.
