Protos Security is seeking an Unarmed Security Guard in California. This full-time role involves maintaining a visible security presence, performing foot patrols, deterring theft, and coordinating with store staff to safeguard people, property, and merchandise.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, reporting, and assisting customers while upholding security priorities. Candidates must meet California BSIS requirements and be prepared to work weekends and various shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid California Guard Card issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) is required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain alert and professional in a retail environment.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high-visibility presence throughout retail areas to deter theft, vandalism, and other unwanted activity.
• Conduct routine foot patrols inside and around the store or shopping center to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards.
• Respond to incidents involving theft, trespassing, or disturbances in a professional and appropriate manner.
• Communicate regularly with store employees, property management, and other on-site personnel to exchange updates and receive direction.
• Support loss prevention efforts by observing shoppers and reporting suspected shoplifting to appropriate personnel.
• Provide customer service as needed, including offering directions or answering basic inquiries while maintaining security priorities.
• Complete accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation.
