ScanScape is hiring a part-time Retail Scan Associate to visit local stores, scan barcodes, and help improve product performance. You’ll use a mobile app to collect data across grocery, drug, and mass-merchandise retailers, with weekly deadlines and travel paid at your hourly rate.

The role offers consistent part-time hours, flexible scheduling, and opportunities for 401(k) matching and a referral program. Training provided.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds and reach up to 6 feet.
• Able to perform repetitive hand/arm/leg movements.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be deadline-driven and a self-starter.
• Must have reliable Wi-Fi access and be tech savvy.

Retail Scan Associate (New Carlisle, OH 45344)

This is a permanent PART-TIME role. The base hours for this position average from 9-19 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview.

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).

What does a Retail Scan Associate do?

We are hiring part-time Retail ScanAssociates to perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Our store types include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores. We work with major brand retailers like Walmart, Kroger, Target, Albertsons, and other national chains, as well as small independent retailers.

Retail Scan Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store.

While scanning bar codes each week, you will be asked to provide the quantity of about 45% of the products you scan.

What does a Retail Scan Associate's week look like?

You will report to your store within the described deadline.

You will complete Display Scanning on the entire store, which occurs every week and can take several hours to finish.

Our Clients frequently request more specific details about products in the main stocking locations. This additional work is referred to as Custom Projects. They occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work for those weeks for each store.

This position is expected to remain open for approximately 30 days and may close earlier if sufficient qualified candidates are identified.
