Job summary

Staples, Inc. is hiring Retail Sales Supervisors to champion customer engagement and oversee front of store operations in Grand Haven. You and the team will focus on increasing sales, conversions, and service while actively engaging customers to provide complete solutions.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience selling retail products or services.
• Able to engage with customers and understand their needs.
• Effective communication and organizational skills; adaptable to changing priorities.
• Experience coaching a team and supervising others.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage conflict.
• Ability to lift/move materials (10–50 pounds) and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer coaching and support to the store team to drive customer service, sales, and conversion.
• Focus on delivering an exceptional in-store experience, consultative selling, conversion, and total solutions for customers.
• Own weekly sales and merchandising activities.
• Perform Floor Leader duties to guide the team in delivering a great customer experience across the store.
• Support company initiatives and adapt to changing responsibilities and duties as assigned.
• Maintain an engaging store environment and be available to assist as needed.
• Complete daily merchandising and sales tasks and delegate operational tasks with the GM.

• Focus on providing an exceptional store experience, consultative selling, driving conversion, and providing total solutions to every customer

Essential skills and experience:

• Able to work a flexible schedule based on the store’s needs

• 1+ year experience selling retail products or services
• Must be able to and want to engage with customers and understand their needs

• Effective communication skills, organization, and adaptive to changing business priorities

• Experience coaching a team and/or supervising others
• Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information

• Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
