Job summary

Mum's Floral & Home in Pennsylvania is hiring for a full-time retail associate to deliver friendly, knowledgeable service while helping customers find hard goods, candles, stationary and jewelry. You will handle floral orders, manage inventory, restock displays and assist with Market Wrap designs, under guidance from our floral team.

Experience with iPad and POS is a plus; we value arranging merchandise creatively to attract customers.

Qualifications

• 2+ years retail experience and ability to provide exceptional customer service.
• Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
• High School Diploma or higher.
• Proficient with iPad and iMac.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Retail/customer service: engage customers and drive sales of hard goods, candles, stationery, jewelry and clothing.
• Inventory intake: process/unpack shipments and update POS system; keep back stock organized.
• Shop upkeep: opening/closing duties, display merchandise creatively, restock items, and remove rubbish.

Job description

Purpose

To provide our customers with a special experience when shopping at our retail store and assist with the intake, upkeep and retail of hard goods. This position requires 40 hours per week and an ability to provide exceptional customer service during the busiest period.

Essential Functions

• Retail/customer service (25%)
  • Engage with customers as they walk through the door
  • Sell hard goods, candles, stationary, jewelry and clothing. Be knowledgeable in vendors/artists in order to assist customers with questions.
  • Take floral orders on the computer/iPad whether in-person or over the phone
• Inventory Intake (35%)
  • Process/unpack incoming inventory shipments
  • Inventory items in point of sales system
  • Keep back stock space organized for new shipments
• Shop Upkeep (25%)
  • Opening/closing duties
  • Display merchandise creatively and positioned effectively to sell
  • Restocking store merchandise
  • Breaking down boxes/removing rubbish
• Market Wrap Design (15%)
