Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Sales Associate to be the primary touchpoint for customers in our store. You will help shoppers locate and purchase merchandise, operate the register, stock shelves, and keep the store clean while supporting store profitability and a positive customer experience.

The role emphasizes friendly communication, accurate cash handling, and the ability to follow planograms and merchandising guidelines.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform cash register functions.
• Ability to stock merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and greet customers.
• Operate cash register, itemize purchases, collect payment and bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Clean the store, take out trash, dust and mop store floors; assist with displays.
• Follow store policies and assist Store Manager as needed.
