Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to serve customers, stock shelves, and assist with checkouts in a fast-paced retail environment. You will unload trucks, build displays, and maintain plan-o-grams to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.

Your responsibilities include greeting customers, operating the cash register, handling cash, and supporting store operations while applying safety policies and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.

• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, and bag merchandise; collect payment and give change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Maintain store cleanliness, greet customers, and support sidewalk displays when necessary.
