Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a frontline team member to assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain store presentation. Responsibilities include unloading shipments, building displays, and helping customers locate items.

You will operate the cash register, handle payments, and ensure accurate transactions while upholding safety and store standards. A high school diploma is preferred and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build and stock merchandise; rotate and face on shelves; restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Clean store areas, restrooms, stockroom, and front end; maintain store appearance.
