Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a team member to support store operations, assist customers, stock and display merchandise, and operate the cash register. The role emphasizes quick service, accurate cash handling, and adherence to plan-o-gram guidelines.

Candidates should be comfortable in a fast-paced retail environment, able to lift up to 40 pounds, and capable of assisting with unloading and stocking duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.

• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock/face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and bag merchandise; collect payment from customers.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
