Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store team member in Ocala, FL. You will act as the primary contact for customers, help with plan-o-grams, stock shelves, unload merchandise, and assist with checkout using the cash register.

You will work to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets, with responsibilities including unloading trucks, stocking, cleaning, and assisting shoppers throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves; rotate and face merchandise.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total purchases; bag merchandise and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners as needed.
• Keep front end clean and prepare sidewalk displays when required.
