Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to serve customers, stock merchandise, operate the cash register, and maintain plan‑o‑grams and displays. You will greet customers, assist with locating items, and help keep the store clean.

Eligible candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and basic math and cash handling skills. This is a full-time on-site position at our Indiana location.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Receive, open, unpack, and store items; display on sales floor.
• Build and stock merchandise displays; rotate and face items.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to itemize and total purchases.
• Collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean store areas and maintain safety and policy compliance.
