Job summary

Dollar General is hiring a store associate to act as the primary customer contact, stock and display merchandise, and assist in daily store operations. You will greet customers, unload trucks, and help maintain neat, accessible shelves.

Responsibilities include operating the cash register, processing payments, and assisting with inventory using handheld scanners. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves.
• Rotate and restock merchandise; ensure proper facing.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and process payments; bag items.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
