Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Associate to act as the customer-facing point of contact, stock and organize merchandise, and help maintain plan-o-grams and displays. You will assist customers, operate the cash register, and ensure a clean, safe store environment.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, stocking shelves, building displays, and supporting team efforts to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Follow store processes to receive, open and unpack cartons; store merchandise on stock room or sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and face stock.
• Restock recovered merchandise and rotate stock on shelves.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register, process payments, and bag purchases.
