Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Retail Associate to greet customers, stock shelves, operate the cash register, and help keep the store clean and organized.

You will unload deliveries, set up displays, follow plan-o-grams, assist customers in locating merchandise, and maintain accurate cash handling with basic math.

This role also includes unloading stock, assisting with merchandising, and working in a fast-paced environment with teamwork and safety in mind.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock shelves.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register, total purchases and bag merchandise.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners; greet customers and provide service.
• Keep store clean including floors, restrooms, and stockroom; follow company policies.
