Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Associate to act as the point of contact for customers, manage plan-o-grams, stock shelves, and maintain clean store areas. You will greet customers, assist with locating merchandise, and handle transactions with accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and rotate stock on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and assist customers in locating items.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, bag merchandise, and collect payment.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
• Clean front end, restrooms and stockroom; set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
