Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to act as the primary customer contact, stock shelves, and operate the cash register. You will assist with merchandising, restocking, and maintaining store presentation, while upholding company policies and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑o‑gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons; stock merchandise in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock and rotate merchandise on shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness: empty trash, dust and mop floors, clean restrooms and stockrooms.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases; bag merchandise; collect payment and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Prepare sidewalk displays when needed.
