Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store associate to act as the point of contact for customers and assist in stock and merchandising tasks. The role includes greeting shoppers, locating merchandise, and operating the cash register to complete transactions.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, restock damaged items, and maintain store cleanliness. A high school diploma is preferred, and physical requirements include frequent walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; store merchandise in stock room or move to sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Bail cardboard and take out trash; dust and mop store floors; clean restroom and stockroom.
• Greet customers.
• Operate cash register and flatbed scanner to itemize and total customer purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment from customer and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using hand-held scanners as needed.
• Clean front end of store and help set up sidewalk displays when necessary.
