Job summary

Dollar General in Indiana seeks a store team member to help customers and keep the sales floor stocked and organized. You will greet customers, locate merchandise, operate the cash register, and process payments while protecting company assets.

You may assist in setting up displays and restocking shelves throughout shifts. The role requires reliability, basic math, and the ability to follow plan-o-gram guidelines; prior retail experience is a plus, with opportunities for growth within our store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; store in stock room or on sales floor.
• Build and rotate merchandise displays, face shelves.
• Restock recovered merchandise and maintain clean store areas.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Greet customers and operate cash register to total purchases; bag items.
• Collect payment and give change; assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Clean front end of store, side displays, and stockroom areas.
• Comply with company policies and procedures.
