Job summary

USCG Base Cape Cod MWR in Astoria, Oregon is seeking a Sales Clerk to deliver friendly customer service, assist with product selection, and ensure a smooth shopping experience for military personnel and families.

You will greet customers, maintain product knowledge, handle cash transactions, and help with stock and merchandising while upholding loss prevention and safety standards. Weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

Ability to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register as shown by the ability to read/comprehend product literature and perform basic arithmetic.
Ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds; stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, maintain product knowledge, and help with selection of merchandise.
Sell merchandise and provide outstanding customer service, including explaining features.
Take periodic stock counts, replenish stock, and maintain neat presentation.
Handle cash, process payments, balance till, and record sales securely.
Follow loss prevention policies and safety standards.
Work weekends and perform other related duties as assigned.
