We are looking for a Part‑time Retail Sales Associate who enjoys the chance to grow and be rewarded as part of the CHEF’STORE family.

Main Ingredients of the Job

The CHEF’STORE Retail Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service, promoting the US FOODS® strategy: Great Food, Made Easy. You will serve as a key member of the team in multiple roles, including Cashier, Stocker, and Customer Courtesy.

  • On the sales floor (Meat/Frozen, Produce/Dairy, Dry Goods/Culinary Equipment & Supply departments).
  • Replenishing freight and rotating products in any department.
  • Assist during special store events, such as Vendor Fairs, sales floor resets, and inventory processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Front End
  • Ensure an impeccable store experience by building strong customer relationships.
  • Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
  • Perform sales and cash functions efficiently and accurately using POS, scan gun, or keypad, and weighing products as necessary.
  • Verify barcodes and report discrepancies to the Front End Lead or Manager of the Day.
  • Conduct cart‑to‑cart transfers, including visual inspections for tampering.
  • Serve as a receipt checker; verify cart contents versus purchases; perform opening/closing duties at the front end.
Sales Floor and Stocking
  • Focus on increasing sales and managing shrinkage while helping customers find needed products.
  • Assist in receiving inventory shipments and stock shelves neatly, ensuring proper rotation and product quality.
  • Label merchandise correctly, including blaster tags, catch‑weight labels, and PLU tags.
  • Replenish the sales floor daily from top stock, following FIFO.
  • Use reach trucks and pallet jacks to move products and manage stocking.
  • Utilize computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and proprietary software.
  • Keep products accessible, appealing, and constantly available.
  • Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management.
  • Participate in inventory and cycle count processes as needed.
Customer Courtesy
  • Maintain a safe and welcoming environment by following safety policies and practices.
  • Notify store management of any safety issues and correct them if possible.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and store entry area.
  • Gather carts from parking lot and corrals, keeping them clean and operable.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by Store Management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Retail setting, open to the public, with exposure to weather.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Work typically on level surfaces; ladder or elevated work may be required.
  • Temperature ranges from -10 to 85°F.
  • Physical interaction with customers required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 6–12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience.
  • Preferred: one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience.
