Job summary

The Fruitful Yield INC is seeking a Retail Sales Associate to deliver excellent customer service and assist customers with health and natural foods in our Joliet, IL store. You will greet customers, help them find products, and operate the checkout while maintaining accurate stock and store cleanliness.

As a team member, you will display merchandise, manage shelf stock, and participate in inventory control to ensure product quality and visibility.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor, determine desired merchandise, and help locate items.
• Process sales at the POS, handle payments or credit, and bag merchandise; note out-of-stock items or special needs.
• Display new merchandise, stock shelves by product type/brand/size, and rotate stock.
• Prepare and maintain stock inventories; verify receipt against invoices and check for damage or infestation.
• Organize storage by material type, size, and other identifiers while considering weight and space limits.
• Maintain a clean store environment and ensure safety and GMP compliance.

The Retail Sales Associate sells health/natural food and products to Fruitful Yield retail store customers and provides excellent customer service by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets customers on sales floor; determines brand, type, and quality of merchandise desired; and assists customers to locate merchandise. Displays merchandise, suggests selections that meet customer's needs, and emphasizes selling points of article such as quality and utility.
• Acts as cashier using POS system. Prepares sales slip or sales contract, receives payment or obtains credit authorization, and bags merchandise for customer. Lists out-of-stock items or special customer needs on need notes or in order books.
• Places new merchandise on display; stocks shelves neatly according to product type, brand and size. Rotates stock and checks for outdated goods.
• Prepares and maintains inventory of stock. Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming products to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices. Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications and checks for damage or infestation. Compiles reports on adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusals of shipment.
• Determines methods of storage, identification and stock location (considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space) and stores articles in appropriate locations according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
• Assists with maintaining a clean store (i.e. sweeping, mopping, washing windows, cleaning restrooms).
• Complies with safety and GMP requirements.
