Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Associate to help stock, arrange merchandise, greet customers, and operate the checkout. You will help unload trucks, set up displays, and ensure plan-o-grams are followed to maximize sales.

You will assist shoppers throughout the store, maintain cleanliness, and support team goals in a fast-paced environment. Prior retail experience is helpful; dependability and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Knowledge of basic cash handling procedures.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes; stock merchandise in stock room or on the sales floor.
• Build merchandise displays and stock shelves.
• Rotate and face merchandise on shelves; restock as needed.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise and answering questions.
• Operate cash register and complete transactions; bag items and make change.
• Assist with ordering merchandise using handheld scanners.
• Keep front end clean and prepare sidewalk displays when needed.
• Greet customers and comply with company policies.
