Job summary

Wegmans is seeking a Cheese Shop team member to educate customers about cheeses, help them select meal components, and ensure fresh display throughout the day. You’ll deliver friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment and contribute to a wide range of cheese offerings.

The role emphasizes customer education, product presentation, and collaboration with the team to maintain stock and display quality while delivering an exceptional Wegmans experience.

Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, including forceful pulling, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 10 – 30 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to cold (33 – 55 degrees) temperatures. Basic tools and equipment used include knives, cheese cutting equipment, packaging supplies, hand jack, and u-cart.
