Qualifications

• 5-7 years of accounting experience, including 2-3 years in a managerial role, with specific experience in retail or real estate accounting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger maintenance.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial performance of retail properties to provide actionable insights.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
• Supervise a small accounting team providing guidance on financial reporting.
• Coordinate with property managers for accurate rent rolls and tenant billing.
• Liaise with external auditors and tax professionals.
• Implement and maintain internal controls for financial assets.

Skills

Accounting software proficiency (e.g., Yardi, QuickBooks, MRI)

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Knowledge of retail lease accounting

Understanding of CAM charges

Knowledge of property tax regulations

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

CPA or CMA certification preferred
