Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Southern NJ and Philadelphia seeks a Full Time Retail Store Manager in Toms River, NJ. You will oversee daily operations, drive sales, manage staff, and ensure compliance with policies while delivering excellent customer service.

You will coordinate with leadership across divisions, hire and develop talent, and maintain store safety and appearance standards as part of a dynamic thrift store team.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures; maintain professional etiquette.
  • Executes retail operations plan to achieve growth in daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for profit, revenue and production.
  • Maintain day-to-day store operations, including meeting employee and customer needs and opening/closing the store.
  • Coordinate with Store Manager to analyze and develop cost-effective product generation; monitor product levels daily to meet sales budgets.
  • Make decisions on day-to-day retail operation within your defined area.
  • Record production data daily and ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure store compliance with Loss Prevention and Safety policies; implement changes to meet statutory requirements.
  • Interview, hire, and manage performance of subordinates; coordinate with various Goodwill Divisions.
  • Maintain a clean, neat personal appearance and wear the company uniform.
  • Regular attendance is required and expected.
  • All other essential duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $19.32 - $23.44 Hourly

Specific Duties
  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures. Must possess professional etiquette.
  • Executes retail operations plan to achieve required targeted growth in daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly goals for profit, revenue, and production for a Retail Store location.
  • Maintains the day to day operations of the store, including managing and meeting employee and customer needs and opening and closing of retail store.
  • Coordinates with the Store Manager to analyze and develop innovative cost effective product generation; monitors product levels daily to achieve bottom line sales budget against targets. The Production Manager must also be able to identify where donations originate from when processing.
  • Makes decisions on matters relating to the day to day retail operation within his/her defined work area.
  • Records production data on a daily basis.
  • Ensures that the store complies with all policies and procedures relating to Loss Prevention and Safety; influences any changes necessary to meet statutory requirements, ensuring minimum risk to staff members and the business.
  • Interviews, hires, and identifies top talent; proactively manages and reviews the performance and progress of subordinates.
  • Coordinates with various Goodwill Divisions.
  • Must maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times. Must wear company issued uniform.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • All other essential duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

High School or GED equivalent required. Two (2) years work experience in retail management, preferably thrift. One (1) year of customer service or public contact experience required. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
