Job summary

MERS Missouri Goodwill is seeking a Retail Processor for the Farmington Store. The role supports the mission, Changing Lives Through the Power of Work, and requires high standards of professionalism and customer service.

Key duties include sorting donations, pricing items, maintaining store appearance, and providing excellent service to customers and donors. Flexible schedules and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

  • No degree is required; High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management.
  • Must be organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population.
  • Numerical skills include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Responsibilities

  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Sorts donated and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash according to guidelines.
  • Inspects donated and purchased goods to distinguish quality and identify items for sales floor, recycling, and online sales.
  • Identify and price items within guidelines of the AMI pricing software.
  • Maintains high quality and quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
  • Stocks, straighten, rotate, and maintain store area cleanliness.
  • Provide positive customer service interactions in person and over the phone; uphold store cleanliness by cleaning surfaces.
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with team members and leadership; work cross-functionally to improve communication.
  • Ensures safe work practices and hazard-free workplace by removing obstructions.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities
  • Handles all donations with care and respect.
  • Sorts donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
  • Inspects donated and purchased goods to distinguish quality, identifying items appropriate for the sales floor, recycling, and online sales.
  • Identify and price items within the guidelines of the AMI pricing software.
  • Maintains high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
  • Stocks straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
  • Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assistance, and thanks, to in-person customers, donors, and those over the phone. Upholds store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
  • Establishes and maintains positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and works cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
  • Utilizes safe work practices through awareness and observation and contributes to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
  • Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
  • Safeguards agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Reports any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
  • Must adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
  • All other duties as assigned.
