Job summary

Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Retail to support pharmacists with outpatient prescriptions. You will assist with entry, insurance processing, inventory, and patient interactions to ensure safe, timely service in a busy retail pharmacy setting.

The role requires a CA-registered Pharmacy Technician license (CPhT preferred) and at least 2 years in pharmacy, preferably retail. Excellent customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in pharmacy, preferably in retail pharmacy.
• Current Registered Pharmacy Technician License issued by California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Preferred: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Responsibilities

• Supports pharmacists in the preparation, dispensing, and management of dispensing outpatient prescriptions.
• Ensures patients receive safe, timely and accurate prescriptions while providing excellent customer service.
• Assists with prescription entry, insurance processing, inventory management, patient interactions and maintains smooth daily operations in a retail pharmacy environment.
• Verifies patient information, resolves insurance and billing issues, maintains stock and orders stock required for the pharmacy.
