Job summary

The Ohio State University is seeking a Retail Pharmacist - Float for the OSU Outpatient Pharmacy Dublin. This role coordinates all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs in outpatient and retail spaces, including dosing, counseling, and disease state management.

You will supervise technicians and contribute to education for hospital staff, physicians, nurses, and pharmacy team, while rotating shifts to cover the Dublin location.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Medication order approval and distribution.

• Demonstrate dosing and identify needs by disease/age.

Scope/Position Summary

This position functions to coordinate all aspects of patients' pharmaceutical needs in OSUMC outpatient and retail areas.

• medication order approval and distribution
• assurance of appropriate dose, route, frequency and duration of therapy
• patient medication profile review for drug-drug interactions, duplication of therapy, drug allergy interactions and appropriate regimens
• patient counseling
• disease state management
• coordination of patients' pharmaceutical needs with physicians and nurses
• must be able to demonstrate medication dosing and identify pharmaceutical needs relative to the disease process and age
• must be able to effectively communicate with patients, other health care professionals, and insurance companies
• responsible for supervising technicians, undergraduate and graduate student teaching, and providing educational programs for hospital/clinic staff (physicians, nurses and pharmacy staff)
