Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Wilmington, NC is seeking an enthusiastic Event Coordinator to plan and run in-store events, including children’s birthday parties and craft classes. You will engage guests of all ages in creative activities and ensure a memorable shopping experience with exceptional service.

You will coordinate multiple events, demonstrate crafts, perform light face painting, and manage add-ons while maintaining store standards.

Qualifications

• Retail and/or customer service experience required.

Store - WILMINGTON, NCPlan, coordinate, and facilitate events (including kids birthday parties) within a Michaels store to provide a stress-free, fun, and engaging experience for guests. Deliver friendly customer service by helping customers shop at our store and find what they’re looking for. Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience. Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver our Brand Promises.**Event Coordination*** Plan and coordinate multiple events at once including children’s birthday parties and other craft classes or events.* Engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity.* Demonstrate and instruct party participants in the completion of craft projects, perform face painting and other activities.* Facilitate and implement party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards.* Communicate events with clients and store team members.* Complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed.* Adjust plans and events based on client’s feedback and needs.* Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed.* Ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.* Uphold the company’s cleanliness and safety standards.
