Overview

At Office Depot Inc., the Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total solutions” to our customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services, Furniture and Print offerings. The Retail Team Lead will build and maintain customer relationships, becoming a trusted advisor through training and support. The role supports a customer-centric environment, community engagement, and aligns with Office Depot's 5C values: Customer, Commitment, Change, Caring, and Creativity. The Team Lead demonstrates passion for the brand and product offerings, utilizing proven sales principles to proactively engage customers and ensure satisfaction.

Through enthusiasm and expertise, the Retail Team Lead helps create a vibrant sales culture, enhances visual and merchandising standards, manages logistics, and prioritizes client satisfaction. The role may include responsibilities as a 'Key Carrier' and performing Leader on Duty functions, including opening and closing the store, with compliance to security protocols.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Print Sales and Services:
    1. Support efficient print operations and drive store sales.
    2. Operate and assist with equipment to ensure timely and accurate client orders.
    3. Coordinate services and communicate effectively within the store.
  2. Operational Efficiency:
    1. Process merchandise accurately, adhere to procedures, and maintain visual standards.
    2. Identify and implement process improvements, support loss prevention.
    3. Ensure compliance with policies and contribute to sales and profitability initiatives.
  3. Client Engagement:
    1. Enhance customer satisfaction through coaching and community outreach.
    2. Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge.
    3. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  4. External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty:
    1. Ensure safety and security during management absence.
    2. Perform opening/closing duties, monitor KPIs, and manage cash and security systems.
    3. Assist with cash handling, register audits, and other operational tasks.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1-3 years of related experience, sales/customer service preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, proficiency in print services and selling skills desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and adaptability skills.
  • Ability to process information through POS systems and ensure high-quality print production.
  • Positive, engaging, action-oriented, with integrity and trust.
  • Passion for the brand and continuous personal development in sales skills.
